Things to do in Molveno
Our tips for enjoying Molveno and the Brenta Dolomites in every season, with children and even when it rains.
Walks, mountain huts and viewpoints
- Lake Molveno loop: a flat walk of about 11 km, suitable for everyone, including all-terrain pushchairs (on the side along the road the path is a little trickier because of some roots). Postcard views, with the Brenta Dolomites reflected in the turquoise water.
- Pradel and Rifugio La Montanara: take the cable car up from the village, then an easy walk through the woods leads to the Rifugio La Montanara, whose panoramic terrace offers one of the finest views of the Brenta Group. A little further on is the Pradel bear sculpture; keen walkers can carry on to the Rifugio Croz dell'Altissimo, with incredible scenery along the way.
- Sentiero del Ciclamino: a relaxing path along the Massò stream, in the shade of the woods, perfect even on the hottest summer days.

With children
- Sciury's World: at the Pradel, a very easy, free themed trail for children under 10, with interactive installations and stops in the woods to discover the life of the squirrel.
- Forest Park: also at the Pradel, a treetop adventure park with routes of varying difficulty, from little ones (from age 4) to teenagers looking for an adrenaline rush. Open from spring to early autumn.
- I Plun and Molveno beach: the lido area has large, beautifully kept lawns, sandy playgrounds and wooden pirate ships where children can play safely.

In summer
- Water sports on the lake: with its clear, award-winning water, the lake is best explored by renting a pedal boat, canoe, kayak or SUP.
- Trekking in the Brenta: for experienced hikers, Molveno is the gateway to the great mountain huts of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, such as the Rifugio Croz dell'Altissimo or the Rifugio Pedrotti.
- E-bikes: rent an e-bike and discover the Paganella Bike Park, setting off right from the house.

In winter
- Snowshoeing: when the snow arrives, the Pradel trails become magical routes to explore on snowshoes, in the silence of the woods.
- Skiing on the Paganella: Andalo, a few minutes away by car or ski bus, is the gateway to the Andalo-Paganella slopes, great for beginners and experienced skiers alike.
- Sledging at the Pradel: rent a sledge at the cable car and ride all the way down to Andalo.
All the details in the skiing and sledging guide.

When it rains
- Dolomia Wellness: in the lido area, a spa with sauna, steam bath and whirlpool, ideal for unwinding while it rains outside.
- Taialacqua Venetian sawmill: a cultural visit in the centre of Molveno to discover an ancient water-powered sawmill, still working, a witness to the village's craft history.
- MUSE in Trento: the science museum, about an hour from Molveno, is perfect for a day out with children.
Where to eat
Our recommendations in the village:
- Pizzeria Ciao: always a safe bet.
- Osteria del Maso: for traditional local cooking.
