Skiing from Molveno: Pradel and Andalo-Paganella

A practical guide for Casa Fiorella guests: where to ski, where to park and how to get around in winter between Molveno and Andalo.

Three ways to go skiing from the house

Casa Fiorella is in Molveno, between two starting points for skiing: the Pradel, reached by cable car from the village, and the Andalo-Paganella ski area, a 3-minute drive away. You can get there in three ways:

When you get back, skis and boots go in the house's ski storage room.

Pradel: the cable car from Molveno

From the centre of Molveno the cable car climbs to the Pradel plateau (about 1,370 m). There is a car park for around fifty cars at the bottom station: in high season arrive early, as it fills up quickly.

At the Pradel a chairlift serves a blue slope, perfect for learners or anyone who wants to ski at a relaxed pace. Next to the chairlift there is a large Fun Park for children with snow tubes and other attractions, and a ski school area with two magic carpets.

There are two ski and equipment rental shops, one at the bottom and one at the top of the cable car; the ski school is based at the rental shop. Information: +39 379 113 2458 (5:30 pm to 7 pm) or mghrent@gmail.com.

Sledging from the Pradel all the way to Andalo

Families love the Pradel for sledging. The chairlift takes you up towards the Rifugio La Montanara, to the start of the Scoiattolo run, which comes down to the Pradel. From there you carry on along the Bambi run, through the woods, to the Sarnacli area in Andalo. A free shuttle bus (about every 30 minutes) brings you back to the Molveno cable car.

Single or double sledges can be rented at the same two shops as the skis, at the bottom and top of the cable car. Great fun for adults and children alike.

Helmets are compulsory on the toboggan runs.

Andalo-Paganella: a 3-minute drive

To ski the whole Andalo-Paganella area, which reaches the top of the Paganella (2,125 m), it is a 3-minute drive from Casa Fiorella to Andalo.

The handiest spot is the Laghet car park, where the Laghet–Prati di Gaggia gondola takes you straight up to the slopes. With a daily ski pass the car park gives a 50% discount on the fee (check conditions on site, as they can change from season to season).

Ski bus to Andalo

The ski bus links Molveno with Andalo and the lifts of the ski area. Molveno has several stops: from Casa Fiorella the most convenient is near the roundabout by the Pandop bakery, a one-minute drive away.

You can leave the car in the open parking area on Via Belvedere, just before the roundabout (open in Google Maps).

For up-to-date ski bus times, ask the property manager when you arrive or the tourist office.
